Music is Art was founded in 2004 by The Goo Goo Dolls bassist and Buffalo native, Robby Takac. The not-for-profit organization promotes and explores music's cultural, social, and educational impact on the community. Photography used in system courtesy of Andrew Miller.
The system was designed to encourage musical involvement from a teenage audience, and was chosen for actual development for the 2012 Music is Art Festival. The concept was inspired by the unique influence every child and musician has through music. The design featured aspects of fingerprints, vinyl records, sound waves, and the ripple effect.
